Tub Cove specializes on working in bath tub and shower stall areas - our 35+ years plumbing expertise & efficiency is unsurpassed!
We replace hundreds of bath tubs, shower bases and temperature control valves each year.
Our plumbing and installation techniques have been perfected over the past 35+ years.
Typically our plumbers do not need to open up the flooring or ceiling underneath the tub or shower base to make the new drain connections, or need to remove the toilet or sink vanity.
Tub Cove offers a simple and cost-effective way to improve the efficiency and beauty of your bathroom with:
Tub to Shower Conversions
Bathtubs & Shower Bases
Glass Tub & Shower Doors
Tub Faucets & Drains
Temperature Control Valves
Tub Cove can also repair or replace water damaged wall board and wood in the bath tub and shower area.
Tub Cove plumbers can easily replace old, leaking tub & shower valves.
We recommend using the Moentrol Valve produced by MOEN.
This valve has a temperature limit stop to control maximum hot water temperature and is pressure balanced to maintain discharge temperature to within 2 degrees Fahrenheit.
The valve comes with a lifetime limited warranty against leaks, drips and finish defects to the original consumer purchaser.
There are many options of design, functionality and operation suited to different applications.
We can also convert your existing tub or shower fixtures to ones that more suit your needs, such as a handheld shower.
Valves - Terminology
Every shower has a valve that acts like an engine- shifting flow, regulating temperature & driving performance. The valve is installed behind the wall and connects directly to the hot & cold water lines to regulate flow and temperature.
There are a variety of terms attached to valve function. Here are quick-reference definitions of a few of the most common:
Protects users from "shower shock" due to a sudden change in either hot- or cold-water pressure elsewhere in the plumbing system (i.e., toilet flush). Pressure-balancing valves are designed to detect the pressure drop and automatically adjust the flow of water to maintain a consistent water temperature.
Cycling Valve (Positemp)
Turns on and off, cycling counter clockwise from cold (6 o'clock) to hot (9 o'clock). Does not provide volume control.
Allows the user to adjust water flow rates as other plumbing fixtures connected to the line are in use.
We also carry several different plumbing fixture trim kits for your shower head, tub faucet, overfill & drain, and temperature valve handle.
Available in chrome, brushed nickel & oiled bronze finishes.
